Los Oscar's 2012
_Este domingo 26 de Febrero se celebró la 84ª edición de los premios Oscar de la Academia de Cine de EE.UU.
Sin entrar a valorar el habitual desfile de famosos en la alfombra roja o la gala en sí presentada por el incombustible Billy Crystal, hay que poner como titular principal que una película muda,The Artist, vuelve a triunfar en los Oscars, hecho que no se producía desde 1929. Y tenemos que decir que triunfó porque aunque La invención de Hugo también consiguió 5 estatuillas, fueron en apartados técnicos (Mejor fotografía, Dirección artística, Edición de Sonido, Mezcla de sonido y Efectos Especiales), mientras que The Artist ganó en las principales categorías en las que competía (Mejor Película, Director, y Actor, añadiendo Mejor Banda Sonora y Diseño de Vestuario). También se puede indicar que The Artist es la primera película en blanco y negro que gana un Oscar desde que lo hiciera La lista de Schindler en 1994.
También hay que destacar que Meryl Streep volvió a ganar otro Oscar 17 años después, esta vez por su interpretación de Margaret Thatcher. Y ya van 3 Oscar los que tiene, tras el secundario que recibió en El cazador y el papel protagonista de La decisión de Sophie, y se ha quedado a sólo uno de los 4 que posee Katheryn Hepburn), siendo la actriz más nominada de la historia de los Oscars.
No se puede tildar de sorpresa el Oscar a mejor actor para Jean Dujardin por The Artist superando a George Clooney en Los descendientes, como tampoco el de mejor director para Michel Hazanavicius por The Artist, superando a los grandes directores Martin Scorsese, Terrence Malick y Woody Allen.
En cambio, Christopher Plummer ganó el Oscar al mejor actor de reparto por su interpretación en Beginners, siendo el ganador que lo ha conseguido con más edad, 82 años.O el Oscar a la mejor actriz secundaria para Octavia Spencer por Criadas y Señoras (The Help).
En cuanto al resto de galardones se pueden destacar los relativos a los mejores guiones que se han otorgado a Midnight in Paris (por mejor guión original para Woody Allen) y Los descendientes (por mejor guión adaptado para Alexander Payne). Woody Allen consigue su tercer Oscar tras los de Annie Hall y Hanna y sus hermanas.
Se puede destacar que el premio a la mejor película extranjera fue para la cinta iraní Nader y Simin, una separación, aunque realmente era la gran favorita, mientras que Rango se llevó el galardón a mejor película de animación.
Por último como canción original ganó “Man or Muppet” de la película The Muppets.
Como grandes derrotados se pueden indicar a Moneyball y War Horse (Caballo de batalla) que se fueron de la gala sin ningún galardón cuando contaban ambas con 6 nominaciones.
